7TH GRAND PRIX KWF TOKYO 2020

On March 1, 2020, the 7th KWF Grand Prix Open Tournament was held in Tokyo, which was attended by over 600 competitors from 10 countries fighting in the weight categories of seniors and juniors. On behalf of KWF, the tournament was opened by Secretary General Andre Drewniak, who celebrated with a minute's silence the memory of the Honorary President and founder of KWF Loek Hollander and discussed his outstanding services in promoting Kyokushin in Europe and the world, also as a member of the Board of IKO and a student of Mas. Oyama.
The organizer of seven Grand Prix Shihan Noriyuki Tanaka received the KWF Cup for ten years of sacrifice to the development of KWF in Japan and around the world.
Honorary guests were: Secretary of the KWU Alexander Pichkunov, AKR Director Sergey Suvorov, CR of China Noriyasu Hamai and CR Kazakhstan Muktar Juldasssov and 9 representatives of the Japanese kyokushin organizations . Several meetings devoted to KWF development and cooperation with Japan were held .
The organizer of the annual Grand Prix was CR of Japan Noriyuki Tanaka.

SHIHAN SAMITOWSKI INVITED BY JAPANESE CONSUL-GENERAL

Shihan Leslaw Samitowski 7. dan KWF Board Member had honor to be invited by Japanese Consul-General Kenichi Okada sensei for special reception in Japanese Consulate in Chicago to celebrate 60th birthday of His Majesty Emperor of Japan Hironomiya Naruhito. Shihan L. Samitowski had nice conversation talking about cultural aspect of Chicago and Midwest region and Kanku was invited again for being part of Japanese Culture Festival in Chicago this year. It turned out that philosophy of Kyokushin Karate and Sosai Masutatsu Oyama is well known in Japanese society here in Chicago. During conversation with S. Toyoda sensei, President of Japanese Culture Center, shihan Leslaw found out that Kanku karate demonstration last year in downtown is very well remembered and gave great impression on spectators and Japanese officials. Shihan Leslaw would like to thank everyone who is supporting Kanku Dojo and all students and instructors for their efforts and for doing great job to keep Kanku Dojo alive for over 31 years so far ... OSU!


FUNERAL OF SHIHAN LOEK HOLLANDER

February 22, 2020 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands took place the last farewell to the honorary president of KWF shihan Loek Hollander 10th dan. Several hundred people attended the funeral, including many karateka in karategi from around the world. Close friends and associates of shihan Hollander from NKKO and board members of Kyokushin World Federation - president shihan Antono Pinero 9. dan, secretary general shihan Andre Drewniak 9. dan and treasurer shihan Lars Hogquist 7. dan carried the coffin of the deceased to a place of eternal rest. Farewell speech was given by 10 people, including shihan Antonio Pinero. Gathered goodbye to the master with one of his beloved techniques seiken chudan tsuki.

We express our deepest regrets by the loss of President Loek Hollander.

 

He was our founder and a great leader.

 

He made a huge contribution to the success of our democratic Kyokushin World Federation.

 


He remains a great example of highest Kyokushin spirit and devotion all over the world.

 


We were honored to work under his presidency.

 


His way in Kyokushin inspires us to work harder.

 


May his soul rest in peace.

SEMINAR AND 1ST NATIONAL KYOKUSHIN KWF KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP IN MAURITIUS

Seminar Report

 With the arrival of Shihan Antonio Pereira in Mauritius, a series of seminars were held across the island at the following Dojos: Friday, January 10: Seminar on Kumite and Kihons techniques at the Goodlands Dojo. Saturday, January 11: Seminar on Kihons and Yakusoku Kumite at Bambous Gymansium. Sunday, January 12: Summer training at Flic en Flac beach. Monday, January 13: Seminar for black and brown belts on Renraku and Kata at the Vacoas Dojo. Tuesday, January 14: Seminar for black and brown belt on advanced Kata at Coromadel Dojo. January 25: Arbitration Seminar at Vacoas Dojo. The Seminars had a total of 110 participants actively participating in the different trainings and wide dissemination in the different media in the country, Star Newspaper, Defi-Plus Magazine, the summer training on the beach was presented in the Sport News of 20 00 on the National Television channel , MCB1, on the same day; Sunday, January 12th.Text by Sandip Vencatakistnen.

   

Competition Report

 The 1st National Kyokushin KWF Karate Championship Mauritius was held in the gymnasium of Swami Sivananda State secondary school in Bambous on January 26, 2020 starting at 10 am and ending at 9 pm. The championship received the participation of 150 fighters divided into 15 categories in Kumite and 20 participants in Kata divided into 3 categories. The championship was attended by 11 athletes from Reunion Island.two 2 teams of referees and judges for kumite and one for kata. Shihan Antonio Pereira was the supreme judge of the championship, Sensei Vivegananda Vencatakistnen the President and Sempai Yousouf Ramjan the Vice President.. We had 2 tatami for the A and B qualifiers and 1 tatami for the Semi and Final.
