KWF SUMMER CAMP PAPENDAL 2012

On July 12th - 15th The 45th European Summer Camp was held in Papendal, Holland. There were about 70 participants from France, Holland, Italy, Poland, Switzerland, Turkey.
Special guests were shihan Andre Drewniak from Poland and shihan Bertrand Kron from France. According to plan every day took place 4-5 trainings (including the night training) under supervision of shihan Loek Hollander.
Organizer of the camp was Dutch Kyokushin Organisation.

UNIFYING KYOKUSHIN CHAMPIONSHIPS MOSCOW 2012

   On 9-10 June 2012 Moscow hosted the first joint Kyokushin World Union European Championships in the open category to promote the idea „ONE WORLD - ONE KYOKUSHIN”. In the event, which was organized in the Martial Arts Center, participated 73 fighters from 24 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, Japan and Middle East. One third of participants were KWF members.

The honorary guests were: President of Russian Federation - Shihan Yuri Trutnev, President of World Karate Federatiion Shihan Antonio Espinos, President of Kyokushin World Federation - Shihan Loek Hollander, Head of Kyokushin Kan Foundation - Shihan Hatsuo Royama, Vice President of International Federation of Kyokushin - Shihan David Pickhall, President of European Kyokushin Federation - Shihan Antonio Pinero, Head Deputy of Kyokushin Kan Foundation - Shihan Tsuyoshi Hiroshige, Secretary General of WKF - Shihan Andre Drewniak and Head of Russian IFK - Shihan Aleksander Tanyushkin.

   The official opening started with greetings from the crew commander of MIR - an international space station. Then President of Russian Federation, Shihan Yuri Trutnev, expressed his hope that owing to cooperation of leading Kyokushin organizations this martial art will be a part of the Olympic Games. After that President of WKF, Antonio Espinos, stressed his will to cooperate with KWU and a need to tighten cooperation to introduce Kyokushin during the Olympic Games in 2020. To achieve this goal many National Olympic Committees have to work closely. President of KWF, Shihan Loek Hollander, Head of Kyokushin Kan Foundation, Shihan Hatsuo Royama, and Vice President of International Federation of Kyokushin, Shihan David Pickhall emphasized how much they want to cooperate to make Sosai’s dream come true - let Kyokushin become one of Olympic disciplines. 

   Among associated events were: an international referee course dedicated to unification of Kyokushin fight rules, KWU congress and in the Hotel Marriott and two meetings at Radisson buildings and touring the Kremlin. 
The winner received car keys and vehicle registration card from a representative of Subaru. Fighters who won places 1-8 were awarded one-time scholarships founded by sponsors. After the championships Sayonara party was held, which was an additional occasion to unite all participants who represented all the world.
   There were about 1500 spectators and internet users could watch live transmission. The finals were broadcast by RTV.
At the end leaders of different federations stressed how historic and symbolic event it was. KWF General Secretary,Shihan Andre Drewniak, stated that organizing training session for Russian instructors together with Shihan A. Tanyushkin since 1976 he had no idea this fact would cause revolutionary changes in the World Kyokushin. The Championships in Moscow showed the organizational, training and economical level of Russian Kyokushin have outrun Japanese Kyokushin. Now Moscow is a new capital city of the World Kyokushin. 
   Russian Kyokushin Federation and its General Secretary Sensei Sergey Suvorov were responsible for organizing this event.

KYOKUSHIN KWF SEMINAR LVOV 2012

From 29 March to 1 April was held in Lvov the next Kyokushin KWF Seminar, chaired by shihan Andre Drewniak 7 dan within the Kyokushin Development Programme for Eastern Europe.  In seminar was attended by 35 instructors, players  and students from  Ukraine and Russia. Among them was shihan Salem Kahil 6 dan and sensei Andrey Rekunov. The main points of the seminar were: firstly the preparing to kumite and the standardisation of the used techniques and kata. During the additional meeting and Sayonara participans were acquainted with the main ideas of Kyokushin, based on the  Sosai Masutatsu Oyama philosophy, and the prospect of Kyokushin expansion, not only in Europe, but also in the world. The seminar were organised in cooperation with ther University of Physical Education in  Lviv, where is na posibility to acquire the master’s degree  of Kyokushin Karate specialization. There has been exchange of invitations to participate in the Championships of Ukraine and Summer camp in Odessa, as well as participation in European Championship Kyokushin in Saragossa and the East European Summer Camp in Kraków.

The  seminar was organised by the Ukrainian Kyokushin Federation run by sensei Igor Sosnowski 3 dan.

KYOKUSHIN WORLD FEDERATION BOARD MEETING BARCELONA 2012

   On February 24-26, in Barcelona, Board Meeting of the Kyokushin World Federation (KWF)  took place with the participation of the President Shihan Loek Hollander, Vice-president Shihan Antonio Pinero, Vice-president Shihan Hristo Traykov, General Secretary Shihan Andre Drewniak, Treasurer Shihan Lars Hogquist and member of the Board Shihan Bertrand Kron.
  During the meeting most important issues, concerning the responsibility of Board Members, for the purpose of KWF perspective development plan. The board officially accepted new KWF representatives in the following countries: Japan, Estonia, Brazil, Italy, Iran, Belgium, Trinidad and Argentina.
  The upcoming 26th Open Kyokushin Karate European Championships  in Zaragoza will be an outpost of the 1st Open Kyokushin Karate World Championships planned in Paris in 2013. 


KYOKUSHIN GRANDPRIX IN JAPAN 2012

   KWF Representative in Japan Shihan Noriyuki Tanaka organised the annual Kyokushin Grandprix in Chiba, on January 29, 2012. Almost 700 participants from various Kyokushin groups took part in the tournament. Friendly atmosphere, co-operation between many different branches and dojos and high level of fights, made it a very sucessful event. Next year Kyokushin Grandprix is planned for January 2013.
  Shihan Tanaka (5 dan) who started Kyokushin 35 years ago, has been a long time Branch Chief of Chiba and recently joined the World Kyokushin Federation and has already confirmed participation of his team in the upcoming European Championships Zaragossa, 11-12 May 2012.
