NORWEGIAN SUMMER CAMP 2011
2011-07-15

The annual Summer Kyokushin Karate Camp took place in Norway's west coast. 162 karateka gathered to train together for 5 days.

As usualy Shihan Antonio Pinero from Spain was with us. He is a remarkable instructor as well as a very nice person.

This camp is for everyone but this year we were missing our international friends.

We always seek to train outside. This can be a lottery on the west coast.
We had no rain when we trained and pleasant temperature.

  • Of the main activities are the following.
  • Basic training with a little kihon.
  • Movements in different stances.
  • Fighting
  • Kata
  • Applications of katas( bunkai)
  • Special self-defense for women
  • Dim Mak ( Death point striking)
  • Knife

The camp ended with the dan grading. This year the candidates were very equal and they all had a very good knowledge of Kyokushin karate. It was a pleasure to honor all of them with a new grade.

It is my wish that everyone shall learn a lot and leave the camp with the desire to return next year.
I am very happy that about 20 % of our members attended the camp.

I hope that next year we also have friends from abroad coming and joining us.
I wish you a very nice summer.

Shihan Lars Hogquist
